We have secured a weekly slot in the Indoor Nets at Edgbaston for the 2024/25 off season.
The NBCC Winter Nets will start on 13th October and run weekly at 3pm (for an hour) with the exception of 29th December 2024, January 5th and January 26th 2025, until the 23rd March 2025.
The nets are part of the partnership between ourselves and Out4Cricket to work with players who are looking to develop their skills and confidence to move into league or more competitive cricket.
Each session will cost £10, including coaching, for NBCC registered players and mentors, (£15 for other players) and will have between 6 and 8 players depending on the focus of each session. The nets are open to players of all abilities (and we will group net sessions by ability) with the primary attribute required being a desire to improve based on a development plan specific to each player.
Not all nets will be suitable for all players.
Sessions will be tailored in advance to meet the requirements and needs of the various skills required by the game, and abilities of the players.
Whilst the nets will primarily be ‘by invite’ players are encouraged to apply by filling in the form below, which all players attending must complete so that a) everyone knows and accepts the process and b) we can tailor the nets to maximise the time available with players development needs.
There will be a limited number of sessions available for smaller groups e.g. 1 to 3 players with more advanced skills who want to share the cost (£70).
The nets will also be used to support our partnership with Out4Cricket, especially their ‘taster sessions’, to provide follow up coaching, mentoring and practise sessions for those players nominated by Out4Cricket.
There will be a lot of focus on measuring development: speed between the wickets, bowling stamina and throwing accuracy for example and the nets will be designed to support a players development plan, not to be their development plan i.e. to develop over the off season players will need to work on their fitness and techniques in their own time and use the nets as part of ther process for improving.
For now players wanting to register for the nets need to fill in the form below.
We will then set up a WhatsApp Group for all players.
We will then produce a schedule of nets for the winter which will be published on a spreadsheet visible to all registered players.
When you see your name added to the WhatsApp Group and receive a link to the spreadsheet you have been accepted.
On the WhatsApp Group we will publish detailed weekly sessions (hopefully 3 to 4 weeks in advance so players have time to confirm their attendence and prepare).
We will post availability polls in advance for sessions, and the net structures will be based on this availability. We will update the WhatsApp Group to confirm when the spreadsheet for a session has been confirmed.
Payment to be made prior to each session please:
Bank Account: Nat West Bank
Account Name: No Boundaries Cricke (Yes no t on the account name)
Account Number: 62144731
Sort Code: 60-21-59
As we only have an hour for each session they will be high energy, focussed, start on time, and assume all players have read the schedule and turn up ready to work hard.
For those wanting a debrief and a chat a post net coffee is always an option.
If you have any questions, or suggestions, please use the relevant section on the form.
- By completing this form you are confirming that you have read the above details and are comfortable with what will be required from you.
- Please note that batting helmets are mandatory in the Edgbaston Nets and you must provide one as for safety reasons we can not lend you one (nor should you ever borrow one as you don’t know if the helmet has been struck in the past)
- Once we have received your form we will either add you to the WhatsApp Group or contact you to discuss.
Update One: 12th September 2024
The schedule for the first four (4) General Assessment nets has been confirmed and details posted on the WhatsApp group.
Places have only been allocated to those that already submitted their application form.
There are some spaces available on future nets for those that apply after 12th September, but with all nets places will only be allocated to those that have completed application forms and had them processed.
