This page has all the details relating to the fixture, which is a development game for the NBCC LGBTQ+ Team. The objective of this team is to give players within the LGBTQ+ community the opportunity to play a strong league team so they can compare their game and identify areas to develop and work on either with their own club/coaches or with NBCC coaches.

Format

Declaration Game: 20 overs from 5.30pm

The game on Monday will be a Declaration Game, and we will bat first.

A Declaration Game is a good way of levelling out a gane between two teams where one is stronger than the other.

Batting first we have as many overs as we want to set a target which we think the opposition will struggle to beat, whilst at the same time given us enough overs to bowl them out.

The game will be win, lose, draw and played as a competitive game: we will aim to win, and accept a draw as a positive result.

The game will start at 1pm, and at 5.30pm we will play an hour or 20 overs, whichever occurs first.

Darrell and I will discuss with Tom a realsitic target and declaration, but as a guide we would look to get 175 runs and give them 15 overs plus the hour/20 to get them.

Darrell will confirm the batting order on the day, but it will most likely be as per the match day page, with flexibility on the day based on game situation.

Runs4Research

We are supporting the excellent Runs4Research project which raises funds for Alzheimer’s Research so please consider signing up: each player pledges to donate 10p per run scored and 50p per wicket during their season.

We will be making a donation at the end of the season and it would be great if our opposition could do the same.

Cricket Kindness Project

We will be collecting unwanted cricket equipment for our main project The Cricket Kindness Project on the day. Any equipment collected on the day will be available to purchase with all proceeds going to NBCC Causes and Charities.
