FabLittleBag

We were recently introduced to FabLittleBag (@FatLittleBag) as part of our Women and Girls’ Cricket Team Project and in a word they are indeed fab. Two things struck us immediately: 1) we had to have their coaches bag in our own NBCC Kit Bag (and of course my own coaches bag), and 2) we wanted them to be part of our women and girls’ cricket team project.

Delighted to say that we have achieved both objectives!

Not only are their products superd, but their core values are something we fully support.

We are looking forward to working with them on and off the field as we look to encourage and enable women and girls’ to get involved in cricket and support clubs in providing environments conducive to diversity and inclusivity.

FabLittleBag Core Values

  1. Encouraging Good Environmental Habits: We are driven by a deep commitment to protecting the environment and conserving our natural resources. We believe in taking responsibility for the impact our period disposal choices have on the planet.
  2. Education and Empowerment: We believe in the power of knowledge to bring about change in the world of periods. We are dedicated to empowering women and girls through education, equipping them with the information and products they need to make eco-friendly choices when disposing of period products.
  3. Period Positivity Communities: We value the strength of community and collaboration actively engaging with local communities, organisations, and individuals to create a collective effort in creating welcoming and supportive environments for women and girls everywhere.
  4. Sustainable Products: Sustainability is at the core of our actions and decisions. We promote sustainable materials when creating our products, using eco and vegan friendly materials to make our products.
  5. Inclusivity: We are inclusive and welcoming of all individuals, regardless of their background or beliefs. Our mission is to bring about positive change for everyone who benefits from our products, from medical use to personal preference, we want you all to feel fab!
In my Coaches Bag, you should do the same!

The Coaches Bag

Durable, ethically sourced bag, made by women for women, perfect for pitch side/court side. Each contains 25 FabLittleBags and a re-usable carry case, plus 12 Freda organic pads and 8 organic tampons.

Coaches can feel confident that they have a positive solution for their female players. Players have no more stressful ‘caught short moments‘ when training or playing sports – It’s a game-changer!

FabLittleBag’s are sustainable sourced easy to use disposal bags for tampons and pads. They open with one hand, are opaque for discretion and seal firmly closed for good hygiene. Not only do they make binning easy, hygienic and a confident experience, bin or no bin, but they also encourage those who might flush tampons and pads down the toilet to bin instead. Flushing causes pollution in our rivers, oceans and beaches.

Made from sugarcane and recycled materials

Better experience for you

Better for the planet

Freda’s eco pads and organic cotton tampons are made with sustainability at their core in Europe and are free of chemicals, dyes, perfume and other unpronounceable ingredients.

Their Story

At FabLittleBag, we were born out of a transformative experience. It all began with a rather unpleasant ‘hand bag smuggle’ incident when our CEO found herself in a friend’s restroom with no bin in sight. It was a small, everyday predicament that led us to an extraordinary idea.

As we explored the issue further, we delved into the shocking reality of what happens when tampons and pads are flushed down toilets. The more we uncovered, the more horrified we became at the widespread impact – clogged pipes, overflowing sewage systems, polluted rivers, and the dire threat to our beloved oceans. It was a moment of reckoning, a moment that demanded action.

Our journey to create FabLittleBag was far from smooth sailing. It was filled with challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt. Yet, our unwavering determination and passion for the cause pushed us forward. We wholeheartedly believed in the concept of FabLittleBag as a simple yet effective solution that could revolutionise the way we handle period product disposal.

Today, when we receive heartwarming emails and read reviews from people who have used FabLittleBag, we are filled with pride and a profound sense of achievement. Hearing about the positive difference it makes in the lives of individuals and in our environment is incredibly gratifying. It’s a testimony to the power of one idea and our commitment to drive change.

FabLittleBag is more than just a product – it’s a movement. It’s about empowering women and girls to make informed, responsible choices during their menstrual cycles.

By choosing FabLittleBag, you’re not just making a purchase; you’re becoming a part of a community of environmentally conscious individuals who appreciate the significance of responsible period product disposal. We thank you for being an integral part of our journey and for making a substantial, positive difference with FabLittleBag.”

About The Project

The project is based, as with everything we do, around the concept of Whakapapa: that individuals benefit from a sense of belonging, and we aim to help girls, women and clubs provide an environment that encourages and supports the participation of girls and women in cricket, both on and off the field.

We have designed a set of ‘traditional’ whites to be worn on the field with our partner Lacuna Sports which add a modern twist to the classic whites with the addition of some colour.

Many say the ‘answer’ to Period Anxiety is coloured clothing, but only black and dark blue trousers will go any way to masking a leak, the yellow favoured by Australia, the light blue of India clearly wouldn’t. Our approach is to minimise the impact through the use of specifically designed and appropriate clothing, ensure individuals and clubs are better prepared for any leaks, and to educate players, clubs and spectators.

We have partnered with Fab Little Bag, who are dedicated to educating women and girls’ worldwide about the importance of properly disposing of period products, encouraging them to bin these items instead of flushing them down toilets. They have a range of products for individuals, coaches and clubs.

We have partnered with NEXX Cricket who provide cricket equipment designed specifically for female players in consultation with some of today’s top international cricketers. It delivers a range that caters for all ages and abilities.

We are developing a set of downloadable tools for clubs to help educate and be #periodsupportive and we will be playing a number of games with ‘our’ women and girls’ team against clubs wanting to introduce and grow their own clubs in a more diverse and inclusive way.
