Please consider signing this petition to ban Greyhound Racing in Australia as this “sport” regularly hurts and exploits the dogs all so that humans can have some ‘fun’!
Greyhound dog racing is synonymous with pain, misery, injuries, and even death. But instead of banning the cruel practice, the government in Victoria, Australia is trying a watered-down tracking technology approach. This simply isn’t enough.
This new tracking technology is supposed to protect dogs within the greyhound racing industry from being illegally exported or euthanized. But it does nothing to address the other abuses they regularly endure.
The life of a racing greyhound is filled with misery. Puppies that are deemed “unfit” to race are culled or sold off into horrific circumstances.
The dogs that do survive to race are often kenneled for 23 hours a day, and muzzled continuously. As soon as a greyhound is no longer profitable, it is simply disposed of.
