Melinda Farrell (@melindafarrell) has joined NBCC as an Ambassador (Woman and Girls’ Cricket). Having written passionately about the issue of periods in cricket we are delighted she is joining our team focussed on increasing awareness of the issue. Along with NEXX Cricket, Lacuna Sports, Fab Little Bags and Coaching Mentor Ali Choudhry we think we have a pretty formidable team …. but we are always on the lookout for more talent!
She is seen as one of the more established reporters in the Eastern Hemisphere, with her humanitarian/sport pieces garnering much acclaim, as seen with her advocacy for The McGrath Foundation–a breast cancer support and education charity started in 2002 by Aussie pace legend, Glenn McGrath, and his late wife, Jane. Farrell was the proud recipient of the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ award by Cricket Victoria in 2010 and continues ground-breaking work into school and suburban/grassroots cricket in Australia.
