HUGE thank you and well done to our friends at Milford Hall Cricket Club, an affiliated ground of NBCC, for a truly brilliant Ukrainian Independence Day event.
We have posted about the background to this before but the evening beat all our expectations and hopes.
Over 200 refugees from Ukraine enjoyed an evening of food, music, children’s entertainment, activities and rain, which thankfully kept its worst until the food had been served (mainly) and the event was running down.
It was so good to see so many smiles on the parents and children’s faces as the children enjoyed the space and the parents some time to relax and socialise.
The reason for the get together was never far from the mind not least during the minute’s silence and very moving national anthem!
